The free fall was clearly too short. I suspect we jumped out of the plane way too early. The video recordings are too expensive. You pay $160 for a video with a handheld camera and to get another shot from a different perspective you have to pay another $120. From 95kg you have to pay an extra $50, but there is no difference from the dishes or anything. All in all, still a great experience!

Age: You must be at least 16 years of age. Consent from a parent or guardian is required for all under-18s.

Weight: The maximum weight limit for learning to skydive in Australia is 110kg.

Health: While skydiving isn’t overly strenuous, students should be in decent overall health. Shoulder issues or past dislocations may be problematic.

Time: Keeping up-to-date is crucial. We advise AFF students and new skydivers not to leave more than a fortnight between jumps.

English: AFF students must be fluent in reading and speaking English to ensure effective communication with instructors.

    Frequent Questions

    Get answers to some of the most common questions about learning to skydive in Melbourne

    You can learn at your own pace, with no upfront payment for the full course required. Just bear in mind you should not leave more than 2 weeks between jumps when you are learning to skydive.

    You can also complete the AFF course and obtain the A licence in just a few days with one of our AFF packages.

    No previous experience required. If you’re looking to get a feel for it, a tandem skydive beforehand can be beneficial. It offers a preview of what to expect and may help reduce sensory overload during your first jump.

    It typically takes between 15 and 25 jumps, with a minimum of 10 witnessed landings achieving the A licence accuracy requirements. This is usually between $3,199 and $4,000. Learn more about the skydiving licence in Australia

    You can buy jump tickets with gear hire while you put together your first set of gear, with guidance from your skydiving instructors.

    Under current APF regulation: flying a wingsuit requires a minimum of 200 jumps, a D licence, and completing the wingsuit crest with a qualified coach.

    Yes, your APF licence will be valid in other countries, although temporary or visitor memberships may be required.

    Once you complete your B-rel table and get signed off by your Chief Instructor, you will be allowed to jump with other licensed skydivers, progressing to bigger groups with the Star Crest. Learn more about the path after you complete the AFF course
