Requirements to learn to skydive in the Sydney
Age: Must be at least 16 years old. All minors will need parental or guardian consent.
Weight: 110kg is the maximum weight allowed to learn to skydive in Australia.
Health: Skydiving is not physically demanding, but students must be in good general health. Shoulder injuries or dislocations can be of concern.
Time: Staying current is very important. We don’t recommend that AFF students and novice skydivers leave more than 2 weeks between jumps.
English: AFF students must be able to read and speak English fluently to communicate successfully with instructors.

Get answers to some of the most common questions about learning to skydive in Sydney
How long does it take to do the AFF course?
You can learn at your own pace, without needing to pay for the entire course upfront. Just remember, when you’re starting out, it’s best not to wait more than 2 weeks between jumps.
If you prefer, you can finish the AFF course and get your A licence in just a few days by choosing one of our AFF packages.
What experience do I need before the AFF course?
No prior experience needed. If you’d like to get a taste first, trying a tandem jump can be helpful. It gives you a sneak peek of what’s to come and might make your first solo skydive less overwhelming.
What is the total cost of the A Licence?
It typically takes between 15 and 25 jumps, with a minimum of 10 witnessed landings achieving the A licence accuracy requirements. This is usually between $3,199 and $4,000. Learn more about the skydiving licence in Australia
Do I need to buy my own gear after completing the AFF Course?
You can buy jump tickets with gear hire while you put together your first set of gear, with guidance from your skydiving instructors.
Can I fly a wingsuit after the AFF course?
Under current APF regulation: flying a wingsuit requires a minimum of 200 jumps, a D licence, and completing the wingsuit crest with a qualified coach.
Is the APF licence if I travel overseas?
Yes, your APF licence will be valid in other countries, although temporary or visitor memberships may be required.
Can I jump with other licensed skydivers after AFF?
Once you complete your B-rel table and get signed off by your Chief Instructor, you will be allowed to jump with other licensed skydivers, progressing to bigger groups with the Star Crest. Learn more about the path after you complete the AFF course
