The free fall was clearly too short. I suspect we jumped out of the plane way too early. The video recordings are too expensive. You pay $160 for a video with a handheld camera and to get another shot from a different perspective you have to pay another $120. From 95kg you have to pay an extra $50, but there is no difference from the dishes or anything. All in all, still a great experience!

Neil was amazing in the skydive, so helpful and made the whole thing so fun. Super relaxed atmosphere for the whole trip that meant you weren’t nervous at all, 10/10 experience

Age: You must be at least 16 years of age. Consent from a parent or guardian is required for all under-18s.

Weight: The maximum weight limit for learning to skydive in Australia is 110kg.

Health: While skydiving isn’t overly strenuous, students should be in decent overall health. Shoulder issues or past dislocations may be problematic.

Time: Keeping up-to-date is crucial. We advise AFF students and new skydivers not to leave more than a fortnight between jumps.

English: AFF students must be fluent in reading and speaking English to ensure effective communication with instructors.

    Get answers to some of the most common questions about learning to skydive in Cairns

    Master skydiving at a rhythm that suits you. Pay for each lesson as you go – there’s no need to sign up for the entire course in advance. Simply aim to jump every fortnight or so to maintain your skills.

    No prior experience needed. If you fancy getting a taste first, trying a tandem skydive can be helpful. It gives you a glimpse of what’s to come and might lessen the sensory rush during your initial solo jump.

    Achieving the A licence typically requires between 15 and 25 jumps, including at least 10 observed landings meeting the accuracy standards. The cost usually ranges from $3,199 to $4,000. Discover more about obtaining a skydiving licence in Australia

    You can purchase jump tickets that include equipment rental as you look to purchase your initial rig, with advice from your skydiving instructors.

    Under current APF regulation: flying a wingsuit requires a minimum of 200 jumps, a D licence, and completing the wingsuit crest with a qualified coach.

    Indeed, your APF credentials are recognised internationally, though you might need to obtain temporary or guest memberships in some countries.
